I begin by learning all I can about my client and its challenges and opportunities. I ask my client to fill out a simple information form that helps me understand specific goals and helping the client identify the tactics and strategies that make the most sense for the given mission. I then share my findings and reach consensus with the client before work begins.
Generating Ideas
Once I have established my client’s goals, resources and expectations, I develop visual concepts to achieve the desired results. Typically, I present 3-5 design concepts. Based on feedback, I refine my concept for initial sign off, and use it to guide the rest of the design.
Design
In this phase, I carefully apply the chosen concept to the specifications of the communication medium and project scope. I use all the latest technology to expedite the process of design and maximize creativity and craft.
Production
The technical aspects of each project are just as important to me as the creative elements. In fact, it’s during this stage that all of the creative and strategy work I have done comes together. I am skilled at realizing my vision and making sure the printer has all the necessary files.
Implementation
In this phase, I perform a final quality check, using processes that differ depending on the medium. For print projects, I do press checks or review proofs.
